PDF QR code generator: how it works

A QR code does not store the whole PDF file. It stores the link to the PDF. When scanned, the phone opens that address in the browser or PDF viewer. You can design the code with a logo, custom colors, dot shapes and suitable export formats.

  • Upload the PDF online, for example in your CMS, on your server or in cloud storage with a public link.
  • Paste the PDF URL into the field and create the QR code.
  • Download the QR code as PNG, SVG, JPG or WEBP and test it on a phone before printing.

When is a PDF QR code useful?

PDF QR codes are useful for menus, price lists, instructions, brochures, certificates, product sheets and event documents. SVG or high-resolution PNG is best for print, while PNG or WEBP usually works well for websites.

Important for reliable scans

Use short, secure HTTPS links. If the PDF is replaced later, the QR code can stay the same as long as the URL does not change.
