Barcode Scanner Online
Scan barcodes directly in your browser: with the camera, from an image or from a PDF file. The tool reads QR codes, EAN barcodes, Code 128, Data Matrix, Aztec and PDF417 locally on your device.
Barcode scanner and upload
If no camera is available, upload a barcode image, ticket barcode, product code or PDF. PDF pages are scanned locally in your browser.
What can the barcode scanner read?
The barcode scanner is built for quick checks in the browser: product codes, shipping labels, tickets, QR codes, Data Matrix codes and PDF417 codes can be scanned without installing an app. Camera scans work best in good light when the code is held as straight as possible inside the frame.
For images and PDFs, the tool uses local code recognition in your browser. Files are not uploaded to a server. This is useful for labels, invoices, event documents, inventory lists and documents that contain embedded barcodes or QR codes.
The scanner explains common systems such as EAN, UPC, GTIN, ITF-14, GS1-128, GS1 DataMatrix, GS1 DataBar, Code 128, Code 39, ISBN, ISSN, coupon codes, variable-weight fresh-food codes and internal POS codes. For brands such as EDEKA, Walmart, Amazon, H&M, Zara, IKEA, McDonald's or Burger King, it indicates whether the code is likely related to product IDs, receipts, returns, pickup, coupons, loyalty or logistics.
If you want to create a QR code instead of scanning a barcode, use the QR Code Generator. For contact details, a vCard QR code is useful: it stores a digital contact card with name, phone number, email, company and website.
